This album contains the first recordings of authentic orchestral suites from The Godfather, Cleopatra, Mutiny on the Bounty, and more, based on the original orchestrations and edited by John Mauceri. Psycho is the second recording by Mauceri (previously part of Music for Alfred Hitchcock). Herrmann recorded it in 1968 but was never performed it in his lifetime. Mauceri restored the work in 1999.
